Project Overview

Completed in June 2024, this project implemented a cohesive timber flooring scheme using a combination of Catalan Fumed and Slate Grey Character grade oak across key living and circulation spaces. The specification combined two different plank widths, Versailles panels and stair cladding. This helped establish a harmonious aesthetic while preserving the unique character of each individual room.

The Flooring Scheme

Character Grade Catalan Fumed planks were installed throughout the ground floor. The narrower of the two widths installed in the library, whilst the wider set was installed throughout the kitchen, dining area and living room, creating a simple yet strong base for everyday use. Slate Grey Versailles Panels served as a standout feature in the family room, serving as the centrepiece that connects the space.

Bespoke Details

As a unifying element, our bespoke stair cladding allowed for a flow between the various spaces.

Execution and Outcome

Our Catalan Fumed planks totaled 123.31m2 including wastage, for both our 180mm and 220mm widths. The Slate Grey Versailles Panels totaled 51.98m2 including wastage. We manufactured the elements for all three of the staircases.

Conclusion

This project showcases our ability to blend two distinct flooring colours. Despite the colour contrast, we managed the flow between spaces, ensuring a harmonious transition. Our flawless installation of both the flooring and stair cladding helped ensure this, reflecting careful planning and precise craftmanship of not only our planks, but also the geometric pattern and bespoke elements required to produce a result that aligns with the client’s vision.
